Video: Blockage Resistance for SuperCritical CO2 Applications

Critical Back Pressure Control

  • Equilibar supercritical CO2 blockage resistant

Equilibar announces its new patent-pending BR1 Blockage Resistance Series aimed at supercritical applications such as CO2 extraction. The video linked below shows how the new design expels ice and resists blockage, even at high flow rates with Joules Thompson cooling effects. During the buildup and expulsion of ice, the pressure is maintained in a very stable range.

Equilibar BPRs have been used for many supercritical CO2 applications in research applications around the world. Our diaphragm design is known to be tolerant of two-phase flow and phase-change. For higher supercritical flow rates, however, our new BR Series allows for higher flow rates found in super-critical extraction.

See 7 minute video below. (Note: ice expulsion can be found around 4:00):

Q&A on single-use and multi-use fluid control for biopharma processes

From single-use valves for TFF to a redesigned sanitary safety relief valve, Equilibar and Steriflow have been exploring synergistic ways to combine two distinct technologies to create better fluid control solutions for the biopharmaceutical industry since 2021. As they prepare for the April 2024 INTERPHEX show in New York City, Single Use Technology Manager Ryan Read More
