Team Member Spotlight: Ryan Patterson, Application Engineer

Application Engineer Ryan Patterson is a native of Western North Carolina who joined the Equilibar team late last year. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Carolina University down the road in Cullowhee, North Carolina.

His previous work experience included time as a design engineer and then an application engineer with Hapco and Morgan Advanced Materials. And while he spent some time in Raleigh, he explains that “the mountain views called me back.”

Ryan’s favorite mountain activity is going on hikes to explore the Blue Ridge Mountains with his wife and dog. “But the bath my dog earns after a muddy hike/swim is her LEAST favorite activity,” he said.

Ryan also likes to spend time in the kitchen when he is not at work. “I grew up watching cooking shows as a kid, and I fancy myself an amateur experimental chef,” he said. “The best thing I’ve ever cooked is a Spanish seafood paella-inspired risotto.”

At Equilibar, Ryan enjoys discussing challenging fluid control problems and working through them with our team. “The brainstorming sessions are always productive and often leave everyone involved a bit more well-rounded.”

Like so many of our technical team members, Ryan chose to become an engineer because he enjoys working through problems to find a realistic and achievable solution.

He looks forward to building on his experience and learning more about current manufacturing methods. “Many of our customers are on the cutting edge of manufacturing technology, and sometimes when I’m on a call with a customer whose explaining their new system, I find myself going down a research rabbit hole afterwards to familiarize myself.”

We are thankful to have Ryan on our technical team! Please don’t hesitate to contact him or another application engineer to discuss your fluid control challenge, whether it involves back pressure control, vacuum control, flow control, or even complex pressure reducing control applications. We look forward to hearing from you.
