Jeff Jennings DuPont Forest

In 2007, Jeff Jennings founded Equilibar by moving his start-up technology business out of his basement into a testing and manufacturing facility near Asheville, NC. Today, Jeff holds more than a dozen fluid control patents, both in the U.S. and internationally, and continues to conduct active research in the Equilibar laboratory. He especially enjoys working to create technological breakthroughs in alternative energy, carbon sequestration, clean water and other emerging environmental fields.

“One of the most rewarding parts of my job has been working with creative scientists and engineers all over the world,” Jeff says. “I’ve enjoyed traveling to other countries and becoming familiar with other cultures and learning from them. It is gratifying to see how our technology can play a role in so many different types of cutting-edge applications across the U.S. and across the globe .”

A graduate of Clemson University, Jeff previously worked for the DuPont company and moved to Western North Carolina in 1991 as a research engineer at DuPont’s Brevard film manufacturing site. As founder of Equilibar, he worked to maintain a progressive workplace and to support STEM education in local public schools. He has been a mentor for the local robotics team and has participated in a variety of hands-on STEM education events. Now an advisor and mentor for both Equilibar and parent company Richards Industrials, Jeff advocates for an innovation mindset and spearheads explorations for new product development.

Jeff is known in the community for his active role in local conservation and environmental efforts, including the establishment of DuPont State Recreational Forest. He spends time outdoors whenever possible biking, hiking, and backpacking. His outdoor photography is on display at Equilibar.

Jeff is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of North Carolina and serves on the advisory board for Process Instrumentation Magazine.

how the Equilibar valve works in pressure reducing control

For complex applications, Equilibar® valves can provide reliable pressure-reducing control

Equilibar’s multiple orifice diaphragm technology has become a favorite for providing back pressure control, vacuum control, and flow control, but in certain applications it can also provide distinct advantages as a pressure reducing valve (PRV) that is able to perform where conventional valves cannot. Equilibar devices excel in pressure-reducing applications that push far beyond the Read More
