Equilibar Used in MIT Reverse Osmosis Membrane Fouling Research

  • MIT case study on membrane fouling

Researchers at MIT implemented an Equilibar® Back Pressure Regulator to control pressure on a membrane used in reverse osmosis water purification research. The unit helped to eliminate noise in the data collected and allowed for automation of testing to increase practicality and efficiency. The research is part of an effort to improve the desalination and remediation of water.

Innovators serving innovators

Earlier this month, I got a nice surprise in the mail—a plaque from the Federal Laboratory Consortium recognizing Equilibar’s collaboration with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) to develop emergency ventilator technology. The plaque brought back many memories. Just one year ago, as COVID was quickly becoming an international crisis, the Equilibar team was working long Read More
