Andrew Roberts - Precision Back Pressure Regulators and more

Andrew Roberts

Lead Assembly Technician

As Equilibar’s lead assembly technician, Andrew Roberts hand-builds and tests almost infinite configurations of back pressure regulators and vacuum control valves.

Andrew perfected his detail-oriented skills during his time working in Western North Carolina’s thriving beer brewing industry. “The fast-paced automation taught me a lot about systems and processes,” he said. Andrew also uses the mechanical skills he learned during his time working in construction. His methodical approach is a valuable asset given the increasing number of Equilibar options, including size, materials of construction, diaphragms and O-rings.

Looking to the future, Andrew enjoys learning computer programming languages and has been able to use these skills to increase the efficiency of the assembly process.

Andrew is a native of Brevard, NC, where he enjoys playing multiple types of music with friends. He is also a DJ and collects vinyl LPs.

Seven Ways to Dome Load

Equilibar’s back pressure regulators (BPRs) are dome loaded.  This means that the pressure setpoint is provided by a fluid that is fed into a chamber on the top (dome) of the regulator. The pressure of the fluid (either gas or liquid) is set by a second regulator called a pilot regulator.  The loading mechanism is Read More
