The use of a metal diaphragm also increases the pressure range up to 10,000 psig \/ 689 bar(g). While the standard PTFE\/Glass composite diaphragms can be used for conditions up to 232\u00b0C (450\u00b0F) at low pressures, the mechanical stress derating for PTFE at elevated temperatures makes the SS316 diaphragm a more practical choice in most high temperature applications.
