Very Low Flow Rate Applications
Conventional regulators often have trouble maintaining target pressure at extremely low flow rates. The Equilibar®'s unique design easily provides flow turndown ratios of 100:1, and in some cases up to 1000:1. This means that the same regulator can control pressure at 60 SCFM and well below 1 SCFM. But gas flow rates in the range of 1 ml/min are best served by regulators customized for this demanding service. Equilibar® now offers a customized Low Flow trim that provides precision performance into flow ranges not supported by traditional back pressure regulators. This Low Flow trim ("-LF") is provided in the EB2SC3 regulator (3/8" ports), though with significantly reduced Cv and capacity. Low Flow trim regulators perform best with elastomeric diaphragms (Buna N or Viton), but can also be provided with Polyethylene diaphragms in low pressure applications. PTFE diaphragms do not provide good performance in most ultra low flow applications. Contact Equilibar to for additional assistance with your very low flow application.
